The 960 Series extends contact to 270 degrees around the sphere.
This geometry accesses undercut profiles that conventional ball nose tools cannot physically reach because the cutting edge extends well above the equator.
Four flutes at 0.25" cutting diameter provide the surface finish steel and aluminum applications typically require while maintaining reasonable feed rates.
AlTiN coating handles the heat buildup common in these confined geometries.
The coating's thermal barrier properties become relevant when you're cutting in spaces where chip evacuation is restricted and heat has fewer paths to dissipate.
The 0.158" neck diameter provides clearance for the deeper pocket work this tool geometry is designed to handle.
