100C Series

The 100C Series is Sonic's 4-flute chipbreaker end mill for steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys. Chipbreaker geometry interrupts chip formation before long, stringy strands develop and pack the flutes in deep pockets. In steel, chips that don't clear get recut, and recutting hard, work-hardened chips breaks down the cutting edge. Compared with a plain flute, Sonic's chipbreaker pattern is set for a higher feed rate and still leaves a good wall finish.

Every 100C is a square end mill with a small R0.004"–0.008" (0.1–0.2 mm) radius to protect the corner. For a knurled rougher with a corner chamfer, see the 100R.

Sonic offers the 100C in TiAlSiN for hardened steels, nickel alloys, and titanium alloys. Sonic grinds every shank to h6 for precision holders and leaves a ground finish, not a polished one, so the shank resists slipping. Every tool is engraved with its lot number for traceability.
