930 Series

The 930 Series is Sonic's solid carbide dovetail cutter for dovetail slot milling and undercut profiles. The 930 finishes the angled walls of a slot that's been roughed out, and the angle comes from the cutter, not a calculated toolpath. Applications include slides, workholding dovetails, T-slot finishing, and angled undercuts in steel and aluminum.

The page carries two families: the 930 with sharp corners and the 931 with a 0.005" or 0.010" corner radius. Sonic labels the 930 by included angle: a 60° cutter cuts walls 60° from the floor, and a 90° cutter cuts 45° walls.

Sonic offers the 930 in AlTiN for steel, titanium alloys, and Inconel, and in TiB2 for aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. Sonic grinds every shank to h6 for precision holders and leaves a ground finish, not a polished one, so the shank resists slipping. Every tool is engraved with its lot number for traceability.
