The 100Cm040A is a 4mm 4-flute chipbreaker end mill from the 100C Series, for deep pockets and full slots in steel, iron, titanium and nickel alloys. Length of cut is 8mm (2x diameter), the stiffest option in the 100C Series at this size.

The chipbreakers cut the chip short before long strands can pack the flutes, which matters in steel, where a packed chip is heavy and hard enough to break an edge.
Sonic sets the chipbreaker pattern so you can run a higher feed rate than a smooth flute and still get a good wall finish.
The end is center cutting, so you can ramp and plunge.
A 0.1mm corner radius holds up better than a sharp corner and leaves a 0.1mm fillet where the wall meets the floor.
The TiAlSiN coating is built for heat: it holds up to 1000°C and its low-friction surface cuts down wear.
