Tool 100Ri156LA
Small diameter roughing presents a challenge. You need material removal rates but the tool has to survive the cut without snapping under aggressive loads. The 100Ri156LA runs a 0.1563" cutting diameter with TiAlSiN coating. That coating adds lubricity and heat resistance when you're pushing feed rates in tighter spaces where chip evacuation gets more critical.
- Four flutes with chipbreaker geometry fracture chips before they pack the smaller flute gullets.
- The 0.004" chamfer strengthens the cutting edge against chipping when you're taking heavier cuts than the diameter would normally suggest.
- Steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys respond well to this approach when you need stock removal in confined areas or detailed roughing passes.
- The surface won't be finished.
- That's what the finisher is for.
