Tool 100Ri313A

Smaller roughers take more abuse per cubic inch of material removed. The chip load drops, heat builds faster, and tool life suffers when you're pulling heavy cuts with a 5/16" diameter. The 100Ri313A addresses this with TiAlSiN coating over the chipbreaker geometry. That coating pushes operating temperatures higher while the chipbreakers keep chips moving out of the cut instead of welding to the flutes.

  • The 0.006" chamfer strengthens the cutting edge where it matters most.
  • Sharp corners chip out under interrupted cuts and high feed rates.
  • This chamfer gives you the edge strength to maintain aggressive parameters in steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys without losing the tool to premature edge failure.
  • This rougher removes material, not machine marks.
  • Follow with a finisher for surface requirements.
