Tool 100Ri500LA

Steel work generates heat. Heat kills tools faster than feed rates or spindle speeds ever will. The 100Ri500LA addresses this with TiAlSiN coating over solid carbide substrate. The coating acts as a thermal barrier while maintaining lubricity in the cut.

  • This is roughing geometry with chipbreaker edges that fragment chips before they can pack the flutes or conduct heat back to the tool.
  • Four flutes give you the balance between material removal rate and chip evacuation in steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys.
  • The 0.008" chamfer strengthens the cutting edge at entry and reduces the micro-chipping that shortens tool life in interrupted cuts.
  • Half-inch cutting diameter handles substantial depths of cut when you need to clear material fast.
  • The surface finish won't be pretty.
  • Save that for the finishing pass.
