Heavy roughing generates heat. Heat kills tools and warps workpieces, especially when you're hogging out 3-inch cuts in steel or titanium. The 100Rm030LFA addresses this with TiAlSiN coating over solid carbide geometry designed for material removal, not surface finish.

  • The coating's aluminum content forms a protective oxide layer at cutting temperatures, extending tool life in the thermal cycling that comes with interrupted cuts.
  • Four flutes with chipbreaker geometry fragment chips before they pack or drag heat back into the cut.
  • The 0.1" chamfer strengthens the cutting edge against the impact loads typical in roughing operations.
  • This isn't a finishing tool.
  • It leaves a roughed surface because that's what the geometry is built for.
  • The goal is removing material fast without tool failure or workpiece distortion in steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys.
