Tool 100Rm080LA

Heavy roughing cuts in large steel forgings generate heat that kills standard end mills before they clear the first pocket. The 100Rm080LA handles this with TiAlSiN coating over the chipbreaker geometry. The coating acts as a thermal barrier while the interrupted cutting edge breaks chips before they can weld to the flutes or conduct heat back into the tool.

  • At 8" cutting diameter, this rougher moves serious cubic inches per minute in steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys.
  • The 0.15" chamfer strengthens each cutting edge against impact loads that come with aggressive depth of cut and feed rates.
  • Four flutes balance metal removal rate with chip evacuation in materials that work harden under heat.
  • The surface it leaves isn't finished.
  • That's for the next operation after the heavy lifting is done.
