100R Series

Tool 100Rm160LA

Heavy cuts in large components create heat, and heat kills tools faster than feed rates. The 100Rm160LA handles this with TiAlSiN coating that forms a protective aluminum oxide layer during cutting, keeping the carbide substrate cooler while the chipbreaker geometry prevents chip packing that would otherwise drag heat back into the cut.

  • At 16" cutting diameter, this tool is built for removing serious material from steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloy workpieces where conventional end mills would struggle with chip evacuation and thermal management.
  • The 0.2" chamfer strengthens the cutting edge against impact loads that come with aggressive roughing parameters.
  • Four flutes balance material removal rate with chip clearance.
  • The surface finish will require a follow-up operation.
  • That's expected.
  • This tool clears material so your finisher can do its job without fighting excessive stock removal.
