Tool 100i313LA

Most shops know the drill with 5/16" end mills in steel. They cut well for the first dozen parts, then edge wear starts showing up in surface finish. The 100i313LA addresses this with TiAlSiN coating that extends tool life in interrupted cuts and harder steels.

  • Four flutes keep chip load consistent across the cutting edge.
  • When you're profiling or slotting in 4140 or mild steel, that load distribution prevents any single flute from taking excessive wear.
  • The coating adds thermal barrier protection during those longer roughing passes where heat buildup typically shortens tool life.
  • The R0.006" corner radius strengthens the cutting edge without compromising corner definition on your parts.
  • In titanium and nickel alloys, that radius helps the edge resist microchipping that can propagate into larger failures.
