Tool 100m120LA
Heavy roughing cuts in large steel components put end mills through hell. The 100m120LA handles that punishment by spreading the load across four flutes while the TiAlSiN coating manages the heat buildup that comes with 12" cutting diameters.
- The coating chemistry gives you aluminum oxide formation at cutting temperatures, creating a thermal barrier between the carbide substrate and the workpiece.
- In steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys, that barrier is what keeps the edge geometry intact when you're removing material at depth.
- The R0.2" corner radius reinforces the cutting edge where chip flow creates the highest stress concentration.
- Four flutes mean each tooth takes a smaller bite per revolution.
- Smaller bites generate less heat per contact, and less heat per contact means the coating can do its job protecting the carbide underneath.
