Tool 110m080LA

In heavy cuts on steel and iron, an 8-inch end mill generates serious heat. The 110m080LA handles this with three flutes instead of four. The reduced flute count creates larger gullets for chip evacuation, which matters when you're moving that much material per revolution.

  • TiAlSiN coating adds aluminum to the titanium nitride base.
  • The aluminum forms an oxide layer at cutting temperatures, creating a thermal barrier that keeps heat in the chip rather than the tool.
  • In steel applications running at higher surface speeds, this coating chemistry extends tool life by managing the heat that kills uncoated carbide.
  • The R0.15" corner radius strengthens the cutting edge compared to a sharp corner.
  • Small enough to maintain detail in profiling work, large enough to resist chipping when the cut loads up.
  • In slotting operations on tough alloys, that edge strength prevents the microfractures that lead to premature failure.
