Tool 150i500M030A

Sharp corners chip out in interrupted cuts and harder materials. The 0.03" corner radius on this tool addresses that weakness.

  • Five flutes reduce chip load per tooth at any given feed rate, which matters when you're semi-finishing or finishing work-hardened steels, titanium, or inconel.
  • The TiAlSiN coating adds another layer of thermal protection.
  • Aluminum content helps it stay stable at higher cutting temperatures than standard TiN or TiCN.
  • The corner radius strengthens the cutting edge where it needs it most.
  • You lose some theoretical sharpness but gain edge retention in materials that want to work-harden under the tool.
  • For 0.500" diameter work in steel, iron, titanium, and nickel alloys, that tradeoff typically extends tool life.
