Tool 200i250X015C
Built-up edge turns aluminum work into scrap faster than most machinists expect. Heat and pressure create welding between chip and cutting edge, then the welded material tears away and takes carbide with it. The cycle repeats until your surface finish looks like sandpaper.
- The 200i250X015C addresses this through geometry and coating selection.
- Three flutes distribute cutting load while maintaining reasonable feed rates.
- Less force per tooth means less pressure welding.
- High helix angle moves chips out before they have time to weld or work-harden against the tool.
- TiB₂ coating handles the demanding passes where uncoated tools start to struggle.
- The 0.015" corner radius strengthens the cutting edge without sacrificing sharpness, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and reducing chipping on entry.
