Tool 200i375M015C
Aluminum work hardens fast when the edge isn't sharp enough or the chip load runs too light. You get that telltale squeal, then built-up edge, then a surface that looks like you dragged sandpaper across it. The corner radius matters more than most realize.
- The 200 Series runs three flutes to balance chip load distribution with feed rate maintenance.
- Each tooth sees less material per revolution, which reduces the heat and pressure that cause aluminum to weld to the cutting edge.
- The R0.015" corner radius strengthens the edge without sacrificing sharpness.
- Enough radius to prevent chipping on interrupted cuts, not so much that it burnishes instead of cuts.
- TiB₂ coating handles the demanding passes where uncoated tools start to dull.
- Hard enough for longer tool life, low enough friction coefficient to let chips evacuate cleanly.
