Tool 200i500Y060C
Aluminum sticks to sharp corners. Push a standard square end mill through 6061 and watch the corner radius develop naturally. Along with chatter, poor finish, and eventual tool failure. The geometry isn't working with the material properties.
- The 200i500Y060C addresses this with an intentional R0.06" corner radius that distributes cutting forces more evenly across the edge.
- Reduces point loading where aluminum typically builds up and welds.
- Three flutes maintain surface finish while keeping individual chip loads manageable.
- Each tooth cuts less material per revolution, generating less heat per engagement.
- TiB₂ coating adds wear resistance for longer runs in demanding aluminum applications.
- The coating stays inert with aluminum, unlike AlTiN which can promote adhesion.
- High helix geometry evacuates chips before they reheat and stick.
