Tool 200i625X060C
Built-up edge turns a good aluminum job into scrap fast. The material welds to the cutting edge, then tears away, taking tool life and surface finish with it. Heat and pressure are the culprits.
- The 200i625X060C addresses this with three flutes instead of two or four.
- Lower chip load per tooth reduces heat generation while maintaining productive feed rates.
- The TiB₂ coating adds a non-stick barrier that aluminum struggles to adhere to, particularly during demanding passes where cutting forces spike.
- The R0.06" corner radius distributes cutting forces across more edge length than a sharp corner.
- This prevents the micro-chipping that creates nucleation sites for built-up edge formation.
- Works in aluminum, copper, and plastics where adhesion is the primary wear mechanism.
