TiB₂ coating adds wear resistance for demanding passes without the adhesion problems you get with aluminum-nitride coatings on these materials.
The R0.1" corner radius strengthens the cutting edge where deflection and breakage typically start on larger diameter tools.
Corner radii also improve surface finish by reducing the tendency to tear rather than shear.
