Tool 931i1224C
Tight dovetail work requires precision and control. The 931i1224C is a two-flute solid carbide dovetail mill designed for small-scale workholding slots and undercut profiles in steel, aluminum, and most machinable metals.
- The 60-degree included angle with R0.005" corner radius reduces stress concentration at the dovetail root while maintaining edge strength on the small 0.1875" cutting diameter.
- The TiB₂ coating provides wear resistance and lower friction during cutting, which helps maintain dimensional accuracy in precision workholding applications where tolerance buildup matters.
- Two flutes balance chip evacuation with tool rigidity on the 0.0984" neck diameter.
- The corner radius also extends edge life by eliminating the sharp corner that would otherwise chip under interrupted cutting conditions common in dovetail operations.
