950 Series

Tool 950i2406B

The 950i2406B is a corner rounding end mill on a 3/8" shank, from the 950 Series, for edge breaks and convex radii in steel. It puts a 0.0938" radius (3/32") on the edge of the part and has 3 flutes.

Sonic grinds the radius into the tool, so the tool sets the radius and you get the same one on every part in a single pass.
The 2.5° entrance and exit angles help the radius blend into the faces on either side.
The dished end has its own cutting teeth, so you can blend a bottom cut as well.
The pilot below the radius is 0.1769" across. On the same 3/8" shank, a larger radius leaves a smaller pilot.
You clamp a 3/8" shank that Sonic grinds to h6 for precision tool holders and leaves unpolished to help it resist slipping.
The AlTiN coating handles high temperatures and cuts down wear.
For aluminum, the 950i2406C is the same tool in TiB2.
