Standard ball nose end mills stop at 180 degrees of cutting contact. The 960i1210B reaches 270 degrees.

  • This extended geometry accesses undercut profiles and internal radius features that conventional ball nose tools cannot physically reach.
  • The additional 90 degrees of cutting surface lives above the equator, which is precisely where undercut geometries exist in complex part features.
  • Four flutes balance surface finish requirements with chip evacuation in the 0.1875" cutting diameter.
  • The 0.117" neck diameter provides clearance for deep cavity work while maintaining rigidity for steel, aluminum, and most machinable metals.
  • AlTiN coating handles the thermal demands of extended tool engagement.
  • When cutting above the equator generates more heat per revolution, the coating manages temperatures that would otherwise limit tool life in production runs.
