Standard ball nose end mills stop at 180 degrees. The 960i1608B extends cutting geometry to 270 degrees.

This expanded ball contact reaches undercut profiles in steel, aluminum, and most machinable metals that conventional tools cannot access.
The geometry allows cutting above the equator where undercut features exist.

AlTiN coating handles the elevated temperatures generated during extended ball contact.
The aluminum titanium nitride layer maintains edge integrity when cutting above the equator creates higher heat concentration than standard ball nose operations.
The 0.158" neck diameter provides clearance for deep cavity work while maintaining rigidity at the 0.25" cutting diameter.
This combination allows the extended ball geometry to function in restricted access applications where undercut machining is required.
