Tool 961i0804B

The 961i0804B is a 1/8", 300° spherical cutter from the 961 Series, for deep undercuts and spherical retention joints in steel. This version has 4 flutes.

The 300° ball wraps 60° past its equator, 15° more on each side than a 270° cutter, so it cuts deeper into an undercut.
Sonic grinds the radius form to 0.0003" accuracy.
The teeth cut to center, so you can blend the bottom of the cut.
The 960i0804B is the same diameter with a 270° ball.
You clamp a 1/8" shank that Sonic grinds to h6 for precision tool holders and leaves unpolished to help it resist slipping.
The AlTiN coating handles high temperatures and cuts down wear.
For aluminum, the 961i0804C is the same tool in TiB2.
