The titanium diboride coating maintains hardness at elevated temperatures while providing lubricity that reduces built-up edge formation during interrupted cutting.
Six flutes distribute cutting loads across more edges, reducing individual flute stress in harder materials.
The 0.0625" neck diameter limits the tool to conservative radial engagement, but that constraint works in your favor when cutting 0.0469" wide keyways.
Smaller cuts mean less heat generation and better surface finishes in the slot walls.
Cut width stays consistent because the neck geometry prevents deflection that would otherwise widen the keyseat.
