Tool 961i3232C

The 961i3232C is a 1/2", 300° spherical cutter from the 961 Series, for deep undercuts and spherical retention joints in aluminum. This version has 4 flutes.

The 300° ball wraps 60° past its equator, 15° more on each side than a 270° cutter, so it cuts deeper into an undercut.
Sonic grinds the radius form to 0.0003" accuracy.
The teeth cut to center, so you can blend the bottom of the cut.
The 960i3232C is the same diameter with a 270° ball.
You clamp a 1/2" shank that Sonic grinds to h6 for precision tool holders and leaves unpolished to help it resist slipping.
TiB2 resists aluminum sticking to the edge, so you can run higher speeds and feeds than with an uncoated tool.
