Undercut profiles challenge conventional ball nose mills at their geometric limits. The 960i3232C extends cutting contact to 270 degrees around the sphere.

  • This geometry accesses internal radius features and undercut areas that standard ball nose end mills cannot physically reach.
  • Four flutes balance surface finish with chip evacuation in the reduced neck geometry.
  • The 0.323" neck diameter provides clearance while maintaining rigidity for the 0.5" cutting diameter.
  • TiB₂ coating adds hardness and wear resistance during extended cuts in steel and aluminum.
  • The titanium diboride layer maintains sharp cutting edges longer than uncoated tools when machining most metals.
  • Ball contact above the equator is where undercut machining happens, and this tool cuts effectively in that zone.
